I have found only two players close to the Sol system. Where are the rest of them? How can I find other people?

Can you see other people in elite dangerous?

Go to the starter systems area (LHS 3447, Eravate). You'll find new players in the Sidewinder starter ship there. You may also find experienced players looking to either help out new players or to kill some new players.

How do you find NPCS in elite dangerous?

You can tell players from NPC's by their radar blip;

a player has an outline of a rectangle or triangle (weapons stowed or engaged, respectively).

NPC's have a filled icon.

Both NPC and player icons will be yellow, grey icons are canisters/missiles (rectangles/triangles resp.)
