I recently moved from Australia to the US and have purchased a US WiiU. To access my digital-Australian games I'd need to change the region on my account from Australia to USA, but I'm worried that I might lose stuff. Especially considering I would have to cancel my Nintendo Online subscription to do so. Will I actually lose anything? Games, save data ect.?

What happens if I change my Nintendo Account region?

Your Nintendo eShop account balance does not carry over when you change the country that your Nintendo Account is set to. You will need to use the remaining funds in your Nintendo Account balance before you will be able to change the country.

Will I lose my games if I change region Switch?

Yes! You should still be able to play all the eShop games you currently have on your Switch. Anything you purchased is yours to keep and play, regardless of region.

Can I change the country and region on Nintendo Account?

Tap Profile. Tap Region Settings. Select the country and tap OK. Select the region and tap OK to return to the profile menu.

Will I lose my games if I change my Nintendo Account?

Note. Unlinking a Nintendo Account from a Nintendo Switch console does not delete the Nintendo Account or any associated purchases. The Nintendo Account will still be available and can be re-linked to another user account in the future.
