Why do my maxed out dwellers get radiation damage in the wasteland? [duplicate]

I have a couple of dwellers with maxed out stats by now. When they go out to level up, they will not take red radiation damage for several days. The maximum I have so far managed was around five days without needing a radaway.

However, when I send the same dwellers out the second time when they are already 50, they get radiation damage. It's slow and not enough for them to use a radaway on two days, but there is red damage.

I assumed with Endurance on 10 that would not happen at all. Why are they not immune to radiation?

How do you stop radiation damage in fallout shelter?

To use the radaways click on the dweller you want to reduce the damage and then select the radaways icon(little I.V. bag with a radiation warning on it). You can also get Radaways from the lunchbox(Purchasing it). Or else you can also build a science lab with higher intelligence dweller assigned to it.

Does radiation damage go away in fallout shelter?

Once there is sufficient purified water, radiation poisoning will decrease for dwellers in the vault under normal conditions. 50% radiation poisoning will go away in... about 4 to 6 hours. This cannot be sped up, only supplemented with the use of RadAways. This helps, thank you!

Does luck affect dwellers in the Wasteland?

Luck also affects the chance of rush attempts succeeding. In the wasteland, it increases the chances of finding items when dwellers go out on quests and explore locations in the wasteland. The higher the Luck, the better the items.

Why are all my dwellers getting radiation?

When you log out your vault is still using recourses for some time. Possibly you had just over the min needed water and when you left the water went under the minimum giving all the dwellers radiation.
