PlayStation 1 games that read saved data for other games?

In PlayStation 2 (and other consoles, for what I could find), when you play Need For Speed: Most Wanted, if it finds that the memory card contains save data for Need For Speed: Underground 2, you receive an extra $10,000 at start in Career mode.
Is there any PlayStation 1 title that could read game data for another game and use it somehow? (I presume it would be to the player's advantage if so, but I'm interested in any kind of effect).

Can PS1 read burned games?
Which type of disc should I use? You must use a CD, preferably a CD-R and not a CD-RW. The PS1 cannot read DVDs. Any brand of CD should work, however, if you try to burn games to a certain brand of CD, not DVD, and none of them work, you may want to try another brand. How do I import PS1 saves to ePSXe?
With PS1 games on the PlayStation 4, none have come to the system in the traditional sense: you can't purchase them through the PS Store, and you can't slip a PS1 disc into the PS4 and expect it to run (that feature died with the PS3, sadly). This PS1 Secret Feature remained hidden for 26 years... Until now
