Best Answer
Try placing a piston horizontally, then 2 observers placed horizontally in front of it (One block gap between piston and first observer). Next place another piston horizontally on the observer. Then leave a 1 block space, then place 3 more observers horizontally. Activate the first piston you placed orginally, and it should push the headless piston without activating it!

How do you move the headless pistons?
First, place a sticky piston adjacent to the block you want to break, with the head end facing it. Next, place any movable block on the other side of said block. Finally, unpower the piston. The block on the other side replaces the target block and the headless piston gets its head back, as normal. How do you make a piston push up?
Some blocks cannot be pushed by Pistons and the piston head will not extend: Obsidian, Bedrock and Nether Portals to avoid abuse. Can you push bedrock with a piston?
These blocks include Obsidian, Bedrock, Furnaces, Chests, etcetera. Pistons will not push blocks into the Void or the top of the map. Pumpkins, Cobwebs, Dragon Egg and Jack-O-Lanterns are turned back into items when pushed. (If trying to create extendable/retractable lighting, one can use Glowstone instead.)Headless Piston Explained
