Final Destination History/Lore

Many stages in the SSB universe are based on the games from which the SSB characters are drawn. But certain stages, including Final Destination and Battlefield appear to have been created specifically for SSB.

For example, the Battlefield Trophy explains (emphasis mine):

Super Smash Bros. Melee borrows settings from many different games to create its stages, but the Battlefield is an original creation. While its initial impression may strike some players as a bit ominous, the layout itself is fairly standard, lending it to serious, straightforward matches. Additionally, it's used to pit players against the Fighting Wire Frames.

However, no such confirmation exists for the similarly styled Battlefield stage.

Is there any history/lore to the Final Destination stage?

Does it come from a game, or more likely, is it also an original creation made for SSB? The Final Destination trophy, unlike the Battlefield trophy, is not particularly informative:

As time passes on this stage, the level appears to travel through a wormhole from the imaginary Super Smash Bros. Melee world into reality. You move through a cloud-filled sky over a vast mountain range, then into a deep-space vista of dark blues and purples. The scenery is as real as you get in this fantastical world.

Is there any lore or history for Final Destination?

The series focuses on groups of people trying to avoid Death after one of them has a premonition where they are all supposed to die and saves them, causing a rift in Death's design. Death itself tries to set things right by killing all of those who have disturbed the balance of life and death.

Is Final Destination based on true events?

The Final Destination kills are actually based on injuries that do happen in real life. You may think there is absolutely no way that every death scene in the Final Destination films could actually happen in real life. Well, you may be surprised to learn a lot of the movie's kills are based on real-life injuries.

What is the chronological order of Final Destination?

Final Destination (2000) Final Destination 2 (2003) Final Destination 3 (2006) The Final Destination (2009)

How the Final Destination movies are connected?

In chronological order, the events that happened in Final Destination 5 were the earliest, lead in to Final Destination, as both of the movies took place in 1999. Final Destination 2 was the next chronological event, taking place in 2000, and Final Destination 3 was next in 2005.
