Why can't I use a Robot Workbench at Boston Airport Ruins?

Why can't I use a Robot Workbench at Boston Airport Ruins? - Adult worker using laptop at workbench during work in boat garage

Last weekend, after running through the Automatron DLC, I discovered the Boston Airport Ruins location in Fallout 4 and built a Robot Workbench there.

However, after building it (and leaving Workshop Mode), I found that of the two options, Craft (A button on Xbox) and Transfer (X button), only Transfer was available.

Why is that?

Is it related to the fact that you cannot build a Settlement Beacon radio tower at this location?

How do you unlock the workbench in Boston airport Fallout 4?

It is a peculiarity of this game that although you have exactly enough material to build an item, you can't build it unless you have more of every material required to build the item.

Can you build at the Boston airport Fallout 4?

Fast-travel to the settlement and gain access to the Workshop interface. Open the Special tab, Scroll down and select "Robot Workbench." Step 3: Place the Robot Workbench anywhere in the settlement. It is now functional and can be deployed to alter robots that you already have.
