Why can't I swim from Darkshore to Felwood?

I was leveling a Druid Paladin, and I wanted to see if I could swim to Felwood from Darkshore to peek in on my partner's raid team. I noticed them flying across the map. I then noticed two small bodies of water connect these two places, but I was unable in game to make this swim. It was like running into a swim-wall that prevented me from going further. I recently deactivated my account, but below is a screenshot of the map.

I'm sure there are practical reasons for this, but I'm curious if I'm the only one who has tried this or if someone knows the actual reasons for why this is not possible.

How do I get to Felwood?

Getting thereTake the north fork into Felwood. Along the road, the Cenarion Circle have set up a camp with a flight path available. Horde: From Splintertree Post in Ashenvale, head west to the point where the road branches to the north. Take the north fork into Felwood.

How do I get to Moonglade without being a druid?

Comment by 5810. The easy way to get to Moonglade as a low level (druids not included) is to travel up the north coast of Darkshore... keep swimming around the edge until it shows your in Moonglade. Once in the Moonglade area, drown yourself in the water and it will take you to the Moonglade graveyard.

How do you get to the Darkshore?

Alliance:The dock in Auberdine connects to Darnassus and Menethil Harbor in the Wetlands. From one of these ports, simply get on the correct boat (talk to the NPC at the dock to learn which it is) to get to Darkshore.
