So there's several different effects you can choose when making a character in Salt and Sanctuary. They're just items, but I'm not sure what any of them do, because there's no way to view an item description in the character creation menu (at least not anyways I've found, and I've tried every combination of button pressing I can think of).

What are the starting effects in Salt and Sanctuary?

These are completely optional and are only there to help new players. Starting Effects: Red Shards. Stone Sellsword.

What does the crystal sphere do Salt and Sanctuary?

A delicate sphere of polished crystal. It contains a cloud of playful sprites of some divine origin. Crush it in a sanctuary to convert that sanctuary to your creed.

What is the best creed in Salt and Sanctuary?

Which creed is best? The Three is always good, fire and lightning buffs, of course devora's light or whatever will allow you to get an item that restores hp fp and wounding plus the healing item gives you a +33% absorption defensive buff for 20 seconds so it's also a great choice.
