We are a group of mid-thirties who didn't play since counterstrike 1.6 was a thing. Now we want to have a good old-fashioned lan party around counterstrike.

What's nowadays the easiest way to get a counterstrike lan up and running?

Do all those Steam-Counterstrikes offer LAN? Is the free to play CS GO a good idea, or should we just all buy some of the older ones? If so, is it as simple as CS:S is better than CS:CZ is better than CS 1.6?

We have quite mixed hardware, but even the weakest rig is a 5 years old notebook.

Can you play CSGO in LAN?

Counter Strike Global Offensive is available to play through Steam, which allows you to play multiplayer games online, as well as single-player games offline. As you will notice, there's no option provided to launch LAN games.

How can I play Counter Strike 1.6 over LAN?

  • Connect all the laptops/computers to the same WiFi .
  • Create new game in one of the laptop (consider this laptop as L-1)
  • Now after the game is created , press ~ button on L-1 and scroll to the top and you will find the server IP address. ...
  • Now on other laptops , press ~ button and type { connect (space) 192.168.
