Passing down a hidden ability in Pokemon Black 2

Passing down a hidden ability in Pokemon Black 2 - Unrecognizable male in black outfit with skateboard standing on sidewalk near stone staircase with metal railing on street in sunlight

I have a female Pinsir with the hidden ability Moxie. If I were to breed it with a male Heracross, is there a chance I could hatch a Moxie Heracross or would all the offsprings be Moxie Pinsir?

Best Answer

A female Pinsir will only make eggs containing more Pinsir, never Heracross. Of those Pinsir, 80% will have their hidden Ability, while the remaining 20% will have a random, non-hidden Ability.

Can you get hidden abilities from Black 2?

In Pok\xe9mon Black 2 and White 2, some overworld and gift Pok\xe9mon have their Hidden Ability: On Mondays, a male Jellicent at Undella BayB2 or a Braviary on Route 4W2. On Thursdays, a Mandibuzz on Route 4B2 or a female Jellicent at Undella BayW2. A Deerling given as a gift on Route 6.

How do you get a hidden ability to pass down?

Once you've caught a Pok\xe9mon with a Hidden Ability, you can take it to the Pok\xe9mon Nursery and breed it. There's a 50% chance of passing on a Pok\xe9mon's Hidden Ability to its offspring. However, if you breed a Pok\xe9mon that has a Hidden Ability with a Ditto, you'll always pass the Hidden Ability down.

Can you switch a hidden ability?

Hidden Abilities now join that list. With the upcoming release of Pok\xe9mon Sword & Shield's Crown Tundra expansion, a new item called the Ability Patch is being introduced. Players will be able to use the Ability Patch to change a Pok\xe9mon's Ability to its Hidden Ability (if it has one).
