I am trying to move a soldier up a ladder to the roof in the iOS version of XCOM: Enemy Within. I used the camera tool to raise my elevation, but the rooftop is invisible, and the roof area is unselectable for movement.

How do you get on rooftops in XCOM 2?

Basically all you have to do to get your troops onto a roof, climbing nearby ladders or other objects, is to zoom out and select the available spot. To zoom out you just scroll the mouse wheel up, then scroll down to zoom back in and get back to the ground floor.

How do you climb a ladder in XCOM?

Once you're looking at the appropriate level, simply move your soldier as you normally would by right clicking on the spot. They will automatically climb their way up there using the fastest route.
