I bought a disc from a different region and if I do buy a digital version will all my saved data be accessible? [duplicate]

I bought a disc from a different region and if I do buy a digital version will all my saved data be accessible? [duplicate] - Man with small modern device for storage and transfer information

I was given rainbow six siege on disc as a present from America and when I wanted to purchase some r6 coins I couldn't because my disc was from a completely different region.

So I had the idea of buying rainbow six siege on ps4 store (digital version), in order to access the store content. However, will I be able to access my saved data if I start playing the digital version?

  • Rainbow six siege disc version (Hawaii)
  • Rainbow six siege digital version (Aus)

If their the same PS4 account theoretically it shouldn't matter which copy you use. I would attempt to get in contact with Ubisoft support and ask.

Can I buy the digital version of a game if I have the disc?

The bad news is to convert your disc game to a digital game you will need to re-buy the game as a digital version. Sorry! The disc content you installed is not the same content as the download, and you will need to delete the physical game to install the digital-only version.

Can I use a disc even though I already own a digital PS4 game?

You can back up your saved games if you're concerned about losing them, but they should be fine. The disc version probably doesn't install literally everything since it can read some content from the disc, so it makes sense that you'd need to install a new version to play it without the disc.

Do I have to rebuy disc games for PS5 digital?

You can also upgrade to PS5 versions if you have a physical PS4 game, as long as you bought the PS5 with a disc drive. You'll always need to use the PS4 disc to play the PS5 version; upgrading doesn't get you a free digital copy of the game.

Can you transfer CDS digital?

No you cannot. If you buy physical games they will be useless on this system. You need to repurchase the digital copy for this system.

What Would Happen If You Buy A PS4 Digital Game After A Disc Version Had Been Installed?

Answer 2

Digital and disc copies of the same game should not matter to the PSN Store or your saves. However different region versions of games (even if its the same title) may be identified by the PS4 as different games and you shouldn't expect that your saves would work.

Your best bet would be to borrow or rent a local version of the game and see what happens before buying the full digital copy.
