How does Voice Chat work in Battlefront 2

So my goal is to avoid voice chat, but from what I've heard this is impossible. (If I'm wrong, please correct me.) So I'd like to confirm something i saw online: from what I heard, voice chat is only used in parties, so if you don't enter parties, you won't have voice chat. Is that correct?

Unfortunately, the game doesn't allow players to disable voice chat using the in-game settings. A number of gamers have suggested that changing the Battlefront 2 voice chat activation in Origin to Push to Talk does the trick.

Though the ingame voice chat only makes really sense as fallback layer when an additional discord/teamspeak stream would impede your connection too much; so just mute each other in the game chat.
