Do I need to take a certain perk before I can start making money?

Can I make money only with certain shops?

Do I have to invest in them before I make money?

If I CAN make money from them, how do I collect it?

I have found that the most effective way to make money is to build as many industrial water purifiers as you can, returning regularly to empty the bottles and sell them. Sanctuary is a good place to do this, and with a dozen water purifiers I never had to worry about money again.

You will likely need to build lots of turrets at the settlement, as the purifiers will attract raiders.
