Apex Legends stuck at 60 FPS (G-Sync 144hz monitor)

Apex Legends stuck at 60 FPS (G-Sync 144hz monitor) - White Concrete Building Under Blue Sky

With +fps_max unlimited it still caps with the following behavior:

  • On "Triple Buffered" FPS Locks caps at 60 & g-sync works
  • On "Adaptive" FPS moves freely between 60-89 but monitor caps refreshes 60 (my monitor says it's hardware refresh rate with hardware buttons & I see tearing)
  • On "Disabled" FPS is 240 and monitor caps at 60 and there's crazy tearing

Why are my Frames capped at 60 in Apex?

Re: 1080-TI fps randomly capping to 60 in gameIt has to do with the windows 10 refresh rate lock. While running obs or I assume any other recording/streaming software on a 2nd monitor windows 10 will try to lock the framerate to the refresh rate of the secondary monitor.

How do I get Apex to run at 144Hz?

Something to add on top of all the other suggestions, I'd recommend clicking on properties on Apex in your steam library and in the general tab go to "set launch options" and copy and paste +fps_max unlimited there to uncap the framerate, it might help. Also when you're in Apex make sure to turn off vsync.

How do I fix FPS stuck at 60?

If you notice that your FPS are capped at 60, VSync is most likely set to double or triple buffered. Please try to turn VSync off to unlock your FPS. If you notice that your FPS are unstable and that your game is stuttering (also in Bot matches), VSync is most likely set to double buffered.

Is Apex capped at 60 FPS PC?

The command line you want to use here is +fps_max 60. This will set the command for a limited 60 fps which is also called \u201ccapping frame rates\u201d. What is this? I would suggest that you do this setting if you cannot tweak it from in-game.
